Service times

Public celebrations of Divine Liturgy at 11AM on Saturday mornings have resumed at our parish, in accordance with British Columbia public health regulations. This is without restriction on the number of attendees, and communal singing is once again permitted. Hand-sanitiser continues to be available in the entrance of the church and we request that you make use of it when you enter. Please note that masks are required for indoor events even if you are fully vaccinated. Please continue to respect the wishes of others with regard to social distancing: some of our parishioners are elderly or have greater vulnerability to this and other viruses.

Father Yuriy will continue to live-stream Divine Liturgy by video from St Nicholas parish in Victoria, at 10AM on Sundays, and this can be watched on the Journal page.

At St Michael the Archangel we regularly celebrate Divine Liturgy on Saturday morning at 11 AM. Additional services may be held for Holy Days, and are announced in our parish bulletin and online journal. Saints days and feasts are celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar. Why Saturday? Our priest, Father Yuriy Vyshnevskyy, is the Rector of St Nicholas the Wonderworker parish in Victoria, BC. He celebrates Sunday liturgy there, so comes to celebrate in Nanaimo on Saturdays.

Set times for the sacrament of confession are not posted, but the priest is usually available before and after Divine Liturgy, on request.
